Actor and Jana Sena Party (JSP) founder Mr. Pawan Kalyan will be addressing the Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) employees in the city today. The JSP chief will be extending his support to their campaign against privatisation of the profit-making company. The campaign has, apparently, been intensified after the alleged suicide of an employee on December 4.
Jana Sena Seva Dal coordinator V. Satish Kumar was quoted by The Hindu as saying, “Mr. Pawan Kalyan, who is scheduled to arrive here at 8.30 a.m., will meet those on relay hunger strike at the Three Horse junction, express sympathy over the suicide of one of the employees, and discuss with the management the Centre’s decision on strategic sale of the company.”
Another coordinate of the party was quoted by Deccan Chronicle as saying, “Before attending the party meet, he would meet the DCI employees at the protest site and the family members of the deceased employee.”
Mr. Pawan Kalyan is also slated to address party workers at the Port Stadium in the afternoon.
The employees feel that Mr. Pawan Kalyan’s visit will bolster their spirits and do a great deal in making the campaign a success.
