A peeping tom from the Indian Navy was arrested yesterday for filming a video of a woman while she was bathing. The man was caught red handed and beaten up by the woman and her family.
Sandeep Narwal is a sailor in the Indian Navy who was allegedly shooting videos of the woman at her residence in the ex-servicemen colony. He works as a leading mechanical engineer in submarine INS Sidhusastra. The incident came to light yesterday after the woman filed a complaint with the police, even though the peeping tom was almost caught the day before. The accused was arrested yesterday afternoon by the Malkapuram police at the Naval Quarters.
The accused had done this before too and fled when locals spotted him. They noted the two-wheeler number of the accused and informed the family members. The women and her family suspected that he would be back and waited for him. When Sandeep came back yesterday and started to record a video, family members and locals caught him in the act.
The angry woman reportedly slapped and beat the sailor up with footwear after. He has now been arrested under IPC Section 354(3) and section 67(A) of the Information Technology Act. Sandeep Narwal has been stalking the woman for the last three days and even went so far as knocking her door on Thursday, pretending to be a prospective tenant.
The video clip of the woman was found on the accused cell phone. He is married and had reportedly planned to blackmail the woman with the clip.
