The political temperature in Visakhapatnam will be heating up in February. While it was reported that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is expected to visit the city on 14 February to attend the annual day celebrations at Sri Sharada Peetham, a recent update reveals that Prime Minister Narendra Modi too will be visiting Visakhapatnam in the coming month.
Reportedly, Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah will be touring Andhra Pradesh in February. After addressing a meeting in Guntur on 10 February, PM Modi will arrive in Visakhapatnam on 16 February. The Modi-Shah duo is likely to address five public meetings in the state.
Speaking to media on Wednesday, BJP State President, Kanna Lakshmi Narayana said, “PM Narendra Modi will address public gatherings in Guntur and Visakhapatnam to counter the false claims being made by the TDP government.” He also informed that Budampadu near Guntur has been finalised as the venue for the first meeting while the venue is yet to be decided in Visakhapatnam.
Kanna Lakshmi Narayana is likely to visit the city on 1 February to review the arrangements here ahead of Modi’s visit.
Amit Shah, on the other hand, is scheduled to visit Vizianagaram, Rajamahendravaram, and Ongole on 4, 21 and 26 February respectively. Reportedly, the BJP President will also flag off Kanna Lakshmi Narayana’s Praja Chaitanya Yatra at Palasa on 4 February.
It may be recalled that PM Modi was slated to address a massive public gathering in Guntur on 6 January. However, the visit had to be canceled owing to several reasons.
