The first word that strikes our mind while we think of Punjabi’s is bhangra and their jovial attitude towards life. Apart from these, Punjab is also famous for its varied cuisine. Here are some of the popular dishes from this Northern state that you just can’t miss!

#1 Sarson ka saag & Makke ki roti

#2 Dal makhani

Even though dal is made all over India, Dal Makhani is a signature dish of a Punjabi cuisine. The flavors you experience in this dish are hard to beat. It is garnished with coriander leaves, butter, tomatoes and green chilies.

#3 Panjiri

Panjiri is a sweet dish which is made during almost every occasion in Punjab. It is prepared with wheat, sugar, dry fruits and ghee, loads of it. Panjiri is a dry sweet dish which can also be had in the form of Ladoos.

#4 Amritsari Kulcha

The combination of soft as well as crispy flatbread is how one describes a kulcha. It can be eaten without a side dish or gravy as it is stuffed with spiced veggies.

#5 Tandoori Chicken 

This dish would get you hogging as soon as it is served on your plate. Tandoor makes everything crispier and tastier. Furthermore, it is roasted on the outside and tender on the inside.
