After multiple postponements and a number of obstacles, Radhe Shyam is finally out in theatres. Movie lovers across the country have flooded to the theatres to witness the pan India star Prabhas in action. The recently released trailers and snippets have hyped up the movie and the excitement of Darling fans knew no bounds. There is no exaggeration in stating that Radhe Shyam is going to be one of the biggest box office hits this year. The fact that this is one of the first big releases post-pandemic is a major traction point.
Here is a quick spoiler-free review of Radhe Shyam.
Positives
- Prabhas, who is known for the charming loverboy roles before he became the Baahubali of Indian cinema, has sent his fans on a trip down memory lane with his performance as Vikramaditya.
- Pooja Hegde’s performance is sure to be remembered, for her effortlessness as Prerna. Her bubbly appearance and graceful expressions are sure to make you fall in love with the character.
- Visual grandeur and high production values. The visuals shown in the trailers are just the tip of the iceberg. The art department did a fantastic job in recreating Europe back in the 1970s. The costumes of the lead actors are a standout.
- Justin Prabhakaran’s compositions have left the audience mesmerised and the chemistry between Prabhas and Pooja is one of the major attractions in the songs.
- SS Thaman’s background score has added value to the romantic scenes between the lead pair.
Negatives
- A weak climax. Though the foundation of the story is the clash of love and destiny, the climax was just like any other movie.
- Many character artists with high potential were underused by the director. Murali Sharma’s role is just a waste of opportunity and so is Bhagyasree’s. Jayaram was limited to a comic role.
- Several force-fit scenes.
- Many questions were left unanswered and proper explanations were not given.
- Slow narration. Often audiences felt frustrated with the lag in many scenes.
- The screenplay was not very gripping and bored the audience.
Overall, the movie is a one time watch and definitely an eye-feast for the fans. Do not miss out on witnessing the visual spectacle in the theatres near you.
