Rana Daggubati has reportedly replaced veteran actor Nana Patekar in Housefull 4 after the latter was accused of sexual harassment by actress Tanushree Dutta. With the accusations forcing Patekar to step down from the film’s cast, the filmmakers have decided to zero down on the Baahubali star to fill in his shoes.
Speaking to Mumbai Mirror, Rana said that it was good to find work outside Hyderabad. Mentioning that he hadn’t been a part of a genre like the Housefull series, Rana shared that he was looking forward to working with Akshay Kumar again. The actors had previously shared screen space in Neeraj Pandey’s film, Baby.
Also, Farhad Samji has replaced Sajid Khan as the director of Housefull 4 after the latter stepped post the sexual harassment allegations against him.
Featuring Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles, Housefull 4 is currently being shot in Mumbai. Rana Daggubati, who is busy playing the role of Chandrababu Naidu in the NTR biopic, will be joining the shoot soon. The 33-year-old, reportedly, will be playing the role of a ghazal singer in Housefull 4.
In case you didn’t know…
In September, actor and model Tanushree Dutta had come out in open and accused Nana Patekar of sexually misbehaving with her in 2008, on the sets of Horn ‘OK’ Pleasss. With the actress also claiming that her car was vandalised by the supporters of the actor ten years ago, the issue had created quite an uproar in the film industry.
