Playing the role of a navy officer Lt.Commander Arjun Varma, in his upcoming film The Ghazi Attack, Rana Daggubati is all set to captivate the audience after his amazing performance as Bhallaladeva in Baahubali.
Rana had to go through some tough body transformations to match the role of Arjun Varma. Explaining about the tough training process, Rana said, “The film has some underwater action sequences that we were doing for the first time. These stunts were shot over 12 days with all necessary precautions. While one part was shot in an Olympic size swimming pool, another part of the underwater stunts was shot in the oceans off the coast of Vizag.” Though he is a certified deep sea diver, he had to take additional training to shoot the challenging action sequences in an unknown terrain.
The 1971 war background of the film required Rana to adapt to the underwater submarine sets of ghazi. And here’s what he revealed: “After we finished shooting forBaahubali 1, I moved to the shoot of my next Telugu film, Ghazi. It’s a bilingual which we shot simultaneously in Hindi as The Ghazi Attack. The Hindi version will be released by Karan Johar. We shot in one straight stretch. The post-production is taking 8 to 9 months now. I shed weight for the role and prepped up to play Arjun. Luckily, my director Sankalp had all the info on how to play a naval officer, so I just had to follow his instructions. He has someone from the Navy in his family and so does our heroine Taapsee Pannu. So their inputs helped.”
The Director, Sankalp Reddy’s will also be releasing a Tamil dubbed version of the movie titled “Ghazi.”
