While people are still lining up to get their Reliance Jio SIM cards to enjoy free 4G till December, and continue to enjoy the free calling and text messaging after, news about the company’s Reliance Jio Fiber FTTH Broadband plans hit. There was news that they were working on a 1Gbps fiber technology with plans starting at Rs 500 and in India, that’s a huge deal.
At an annual general meeting, Ambani announced that the service would be provided to 100 cities across the country. Although, the plans starting at Rs 500 would not get 1Gbps speed, they would get 15 Mbps. Jio fiber broadband is now open to public testing and users can subscribe to the broadband under the Gigafiber Welcome Offer.
Reliance Jio will launch the tariff plans for Jio fiber in the next couple of days. The plans are set to gain free access to Jio apps like JioTV, JioCinema, JioBeats, etc for the first 90 days. The Fiber plans will be of three types – Silver, Gold and Platinum. 100GB free data is being offered under the base plan. There is no official confirmation of plans from Reliance Jio but Phone Radar released the following tariffs:
