In what might prove to be a major boost to the state of Andhra Pradesh, Reliance India Limited (RIL) will be investing huge amounts to set up an electronics park spread over 150 acres in Tirupati, Chittoor district.
It has been reported that the upcoming facility in Tirupati would produce 10 million Jio handsets, televisions, set-top boxes, and batteries among others.
Reliance’s Mukesh Ambani met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister at the Secretariat at Velagapudi on Tuesday. Mr. Ambani visited the Real Time Governance Centre in the Secretariat and later had dinner with the CM at his official residence.
Reportedly, Mr. Ambani was impressed by the strides being taken by Andhra Pradesh and has lauded the government’s efforts and expressed his view that the state has the biggest opportunity to market its technology. Mr. Naidu commented, “Had a pleasant meeting with Sri Mukesh Ambani, Chairman & MD, Reliance Industries Limited at Real Time Governance State Center where he lauded the efforts of the Andhra Pradesh government. Looking forward to many more mindful interactions.”
It has been learned that during the meeting, Mr. Ambani also assured Mr. Naidu of setting up a digital infrastructure, telecom and IT startup ecosystem at Amaravati over a 50-acre campus and a large solar plant with a capacity of 150MW at Peddapuram.
