#1 Shiva (1989)

This iconic college action drama started a revolution in the film industry. It changed the way college movies were perceived. It worked like a breath of fresh air in the 90s. Many movies have adopted a similar plotline for years together but could never beat the classic. The music of the film has a separate fan base as it was produced by none other than the Maestro Ilaiyaraaja. Nagarjuna proved his acting calibre through this film. Amala too made a mark for herself in this film industry with this movie. Shiva is a trendsetter for college dramas and action entertainers to date.

#2 Kshana Kshanam (1991)

RGV’s love for Sridevi comes across beautifully in this movie. She really outdid herself with her acting and dancing in this movie. Kshana Kshanam remains one of the classic entertaining thrillers even today. The intriguing plot and the engaging screenplay make us want to watch it multiple times. Venkatesh’s performance also really keeps us glued to the screen. The music by M. M. Keeravani did wonders; for you will see the album in everyone’s favourites.

#3 Govinda Govinda (1994)

Nagarjuna and Sridevi star in this brilliant film Govinda Govinda. The music score of the film is an evergreen album that will be remembered for years to come. Koti is the music director for this action drama. This movie has a very engaging storyline that will keep you hooked throughout. It displays the craft and genius of RGV and his affection for Sridevi. This is a must-watch film.

#4 Anaganaga Oka Roju (1997)

JD Chakravarthy and Urmila star in this thriller cum romcom. It has a very unique form of cinematography. The introduction song too is very fresh even by today’s standards. RGV proves his mettle yet again with this masterpiece of a movie. The comedy track of this movie, involving Bramhanandam is above par. This movie also has a very high repeat value.

#5 Satya (1998)

This list is incomplete without mentioning JD Chakravarthy’s Satya. This notable crime drama is not lionized without substantial cause. RGV’s masterful storytelling and directorial skills are envisioned through this brilliant depiction of a gang war. Manoj Bajpayee also acted in this film, which gives you all the more reason to rewatch this movie. If you haven’t watched this movie, rest assured, you are missing out on a lot in life.
