“We wanted to come up with a unique name for our stall. To be honest, we found found it difficult to look beyond RGV for this purpose. RGV, is probably the craziest name we could come up with and if the response in the past few days is anything to go by, we certainly feel we made a safe bet”, says Jagadeesh, one of the owners of the RGV food stall in Vizag.
It is a known fact that director Ram Gopal Varma, right since his ‘Shiva’, has inspired innumerable people to take up film direction as a career. However, idolising the ace filmmaker, a couple of youngsters from the city have come forward with quite an entertaining and unconventional thought. These youngsters, who are ardent followers of director Ram Gopal Varma and don T-Shirts sporting the director, have set up a small food stall at Seethammadhara and have named it as RGV.
Launched on 28th January, this place, thanks to its name, has caught everyone’s attention. “The first day had a very few people including our family members. However, from the second day, the numbers began to multiply unbelievably and the footfall increased by manifold. Apart from the people present at the stall, the ones passing by are taking a moment to stop by and click a selfie our two with RGV in the background,” says Jagadeesh.
“We never expected such response in a short span of time. The public posts on social media have made it viral and people are really interested in giving us a visit,” he adds.
Jagadeesh has also informed that over the past three days, he has received calls from Hyderabad and Bengaluru as well. In fact, he even informed that a person from Ram Gopal Varma’s team called them up and inquired the details.
Seeing the response, the stall’s owners, Jagadeesh,Bhaskar, and Bobby, even plan to take the patent right for the stall’s name and its logo.
RGV food stall serves cutlets, chicken chilly, and a variety of rolls. The team is really happy with the feedback received over the food and plan to expand further in the coming days.
