Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority’s (VUDA) masterplan for road development in the city is near to completion.
For proper traffic management and essential transport facility, VUDA has been working on roads development project in the suburbs of the city at a stretch of 28 km and at a budget of Rs 82 crore. With almost all the roads development entering into the final stage, the remaining work has been on halt due to litigation.
The stretch from Yendada to Rushikonda would be developed as a 100 feet master plan via Gitam University on a budget of Rs 11 crore. Works on the National Highway to Navodaya School road is completed. Recently, works have commenced for an 80-feet master plan between Mithilapur Vuda Colony and Law College.
Tenders have been finalised for another 100 feet master plan from Kurmannapalem Arch to Railway Station in Duvvada. “A survey is going on before launching the works on this road. Vuda has recently obtained in-principle approval from the forest department for the widening of the 1.6 km Visakha Valley Road connecting the national highway to Vizag-Bheemili Road. After receipt of the compliance report on the stipulated conditions, the proposals will be considered for final approval,” a VUDA senior official said .
The roads development project is also proposed in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram by VUDA.
