The anniversary celebrations of Round Table India were marked with heartening celebrations in Visakhapatnam on 14 November. VRT 77, WRT 92, VVRT 213, and VKRT 225 organised ‘Taare Zameen Par’, a painting competition, for the intellectually and physically challenged kids at Lebenshilfe school at MVP Colony in the city.
Speaking to Yo! Vizag, Chairman, WRT 92, Dr. Nandakishore Reddy said that as part of the annual RTI (Round Table India) week, the members participate in serving the community through different programs. ‘Taare Zameen Par’, which is also a part of the week-long community service, provides a platform for the children to showcase their skills and talents, Mr. Reddy shared.
Of the many beautiful artworks by the kids, 10 were identified to be the best of the lot and were awarded gifts and other merits. The painting competition was then followed by entertaining live music and cultural programs, which saw the children perform Dhimsa and other forms of dance. The tablers, ladies, and twinklers present at the event, also served lunch to the children and were seen spending a joyful time at the school.
