Sarabjit has been one of the most-awaited films of this year. Omung Kumar wonderfully portrayed Sarabjit’s struggles for existence and how his sister makes endless efforts to get him back home.
What it is about:
Sarabjit is an autobiographical film based on the life of an Indian farmer; Sarabjit Singh. One night he gets arrested by the Pakistani army for trespassing the border. He is tormented to death and accused of being behind the Lahore bomb blast. His sister Dalbir Kaur fought with the Pakistani government for his release for almost 23 years.
Why you should watch it:
This story is given a narrative angle from Dalbir Kaur’s perspective on a very sensitive topic. Actors have given their most excellent performance. Randeep Hooda transforms effortlessly right from a happy-go-lucky punjabi farmer to a skinny, raggy, traumatised and tortured prisoner. Commendably, Aishwarya Rai’s performance attiring a rural sardarni and every dialogue spoken has a powerful effect on audience.
