The construction of a satellite township and sports stadiums of International standards would be starting soon in Visakhapatnam.
At a cabinet meeting in Amaravati, the Ministers have decided to hand over the job of acquiring lands for the construction of the township and stadiums to Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA). The Revenue Department has already completed the survey regarding the land information. Now, VUDA would be working on acquiring and construction process.
The satellite township would be located in the outskirts of the city. It would be constructed at the intersection of five villages of three mandals in the district. These include Aganampudi in Gajuwaka mandal, Nanginarapadu and Gangavaram in Sabbavaram mandal and Pedamushidivada and East Marripalem in Parawada mandal. It is also expected to have a sports complex over a 150-acre area. The houses in the township will be kept within the reasonable budget limits with stress on affordability. VUDA is already ahead with land surveys and a team of tehsildars has concluded it recently.
A total of 1048.24 acres of land has been estimated for acquisition constituting 898.47 acres at Gajuwaka Tri Junction and 149.77 acres at Kommadi.
