‘South Korean City’ expected to come up in the state of Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh is likely to embrace a ‘South Korean City’ in the state’s capital Amaravati or elsewhere in the state. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has invited industrialists from South Korea to set up industries in the state when he met a delegation representing 3000 industries from the East Asian country on Thursday.

The Chief Minister assured full co-operation and encouragement if they make Andhra Pradesh their second capital and set up their ventures on a massive scale. He added that a ‘South Korean City’, similar to Busan in South Korea, can be developed in the state. The CM also said that the governments can sign MoUs if the industries come forward with comprehensive designs and proposals.

A report in The Economic Times quotes Chandrababu Naidu saying, ” We share similarities in size and population and are blessed with a vast coastline. We are rich in natural resources and I am very interested in collaborating with South Korea. Even if all the 3000 companies come here, you have immense opportunities for all.”

Chandrababu Naidu also offered attractive incentives such as land, water, and uninterrupted electricity to the Koreans.

A statement released by the CMO stated that the South Korean delegation proposed to bring in at least 30 companies in the sectors of electric steel, logistics, automobile components, liquors, medical, marine equipment and more to Andhra Pradesh.
