The Government of Andhra Pradesh has planned to set up a Space Innovation Centre at Amaravati to promote research in space science. The centre will help young researchers who are interested to conduct a research in space technology.
The Government of AP will set up the centre in collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The Government of AP has decided to set up Space Innovation Centres in all the Universities in Andhra Pradesh. ISRO will provide its data free of cost.
The Government of AP will monitor all the centres in the universities through the main centre located in Amaravati. The state aims to improve the quality of life through the application of space technology.
The Chief Minister of AP N Chandrababu Naidu and the Chairman of ISRO, A S Kiran Kumar will discuss about the project. Mr. P Vijay Prakash, the Vice-Chairman of AP State Council of Higher Education said, “The start up projects in AP will be guided by ISRO”.
“Innovation centres at Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur and JNTU-Kakinada and Anantapur will be set up in the first phase”, added Mr. Prakash.
