Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi Temple in Vizag has received the ISO 9001:2015 certification. This certification is awarded to organisations which meet certain quality management criteria set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Located at Burujupeta, in the Old Town area, this temple was awarded the ISO certification on Monday.
Speaking to Yo! Vizag, Executive Officer at Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi Temple, Jyothi Madhavi, shared, “A team of ISO officials had visited the temple about ten days back. They had inspected the temple facilities, like the prasad counter, donation box and the temple praying area. The team had checked whether Covid-19 preventive measures, and other cleanliness practices, are being followed at the temple premises. They had also verified if the fire safety measures in the temple were up to date.”
EO Madhavi views this certification as less of an achievement and more of a responsibility, to ensure that the best of management and maintenance practices are followed at the Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi Temple in Vizag.
The certification was given to EO Jyothi Madhavi by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister, Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao, on Monday. The Tourism Minister expressed happiness that the temple received this prestigious certification and congratulated the temple staff on this achievement. He said that the temple, along with the Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple at Simhachalam, has significantly contributed to the growth of the city.
At the end, the Tourism Minister promised that the problem related to the road approaching the temple would be resolved soon by the State Government.
Earlier in the year, the Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple at Simhachalam also received an ISO certification.
