Exceptional narrative skills come naturally to the storyteller, Kaavya Pradeepthi from Vizag, who recently stood as the title winner in Storytelling World Cup.
Right since her initial days, Kaavya had a special liking for listening and narrating stories. “She used to read bedtime stories and was naturally expressive while doing it. In fact, Kaavya even had a knack of recounting real-life instances in a gripping way,” shares Kaavya’s aunt, who holds the credit of grooming the eight-year-old’s talent from a very young age.
It was Kaavya’s extraordinary narrative on ‘Save The Girl Child’, at one of her school’s events, that made her family aspire towards making the little one’s talent gain a wider reach. Eventually, she was enrolled in the ‘tots’ category of Bonton & Lofty’s Storytelling World Cup, where she stood as the first-runner up in the initial two rounds held in Vizag and Bengaluru respectively. Kaavya then flew to Kuala Lumpur to participate in the tournament’s finale.
“Given that she ended up as the runner-up previously and considering the cut-throat competition in the finale, the odds were certainly against us. However, once Kaavya started narrating the story, we, much like all others present at the auditorium, were blown away.” recollects Kaavya’s aunt.
Kaavya’s performance in the finale, made her emerge as the tournament’s winner. In addition, compliments also poured in from the judges, who were apparently spell-bound.
Possessing a unique talent and fast gaining mastery over it at a young age is certainly one of Kaavya’s biggest assets. The wunderkind looks deemed to achieve greater merits in future through many more competitions.
