In what might prove to be yet another tourist attraction in Visakhapatnam, a Submarine Heritage Museum is likely to be set up the state government with the help of Indian Navy.
Commander in Chief of Navy, Vice-Admiral Karanbir Singh met Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu to discuss the same. Reportedly, the CM then directed the tourism department officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) on it said that the state government was keen on establishing Visakhapatnam as a tourist destination.
Among other issues discussed, the Navy officials also requested Mr. Naidu to reduces land prices and also informed that they were willing to purchase land at Bhimili for INS Kalinga.
The CM also asked the officials to keep a check on the discharge of industrial effluents into the sea in Visakhapatnam.
The Submarine museum, if set up, would prove to be an added feature to Visakhapatnam’s proud possession of tourist attractions. Recently, it was announced that a Skydiving school would be set up in the city. Reportedly, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation would be associating with the Rajasthan-based Aero Sports Adventure Club to set up a skydiving school at Rushikonda in Vizag. The school is expected to offer skydiving training to adventure junkies.
