Vizag District Collector, Pravin Kumar IAS, has advised the medical department to be alert as the current season is prone to Swine Flu infection.
In a meeting with the District Medical and Health Office (DMHO) representatives, the Collector mentioned that Flu awareness campaigns should be held in the city. Around 12 Swine Flu screening centres have been set up in the city. The centres are set up in KGH, Anakapalli NTR Hospital, Narsipatnam Area Hospital, Port Hospital, Steel Plant Hospital, INRS Kalyani Hospital, Port Golden Jubilee in Akkayapalem, Railway Hospital and in agency areas of Araku, Paderu and Chinthapalli.
Pravin Kumar has asked the officials to create an awareness about the symptoms and the necessary steps to prevent the virus attack. Along with the campaigns being run about dengue as of now, the collector advised the officials to mention about the Flu too. He mentioned about using posters, hoardings, mike announcements and many more to create an awareness in the people.
