Chinese electronics company, TCL, will be setting up its unit in Tirupati Andhra Pradesh. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone for the unit on Thursday.
The upcoming unit in Andhra Pradesh will be TCL’s first manufacturing unit in India with an investment of Rs 2200 crores and is expected to bolster the electronics industry in the state.
“Laid the foundation stone of the Tirupati unit of TCL TV, world’s 3rd largest TV manufacturing company. The company will invest around Rs. 2,200 Cr to produce TV & mobile panels. Coming up in 155 acres, the project will generate about 8,000 jobs,” Chandrababu Naidu shared on his social media portals.
Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh tweeted, “Yes, we did it! Broke ground for @TCL_TV_Global’s huge manufacturing plant to come up in Tirupati. This will be a game-changer, positioning Andhra Pradesh as a hotspot for electronics manufacturers.”
“Paving the way for a bright ‘Electronics Future’ for Andhra Pradesh Heartfelt thanks to @TCL_TV_Global for placing their belief in our State and its leadership,” he further shared.
“TCL expands global reach with the construction of the first overseas smart integrated manufacturing industrial park in Tirupati, India,” the company tweeted.
