The political rivalry between the leading and front opposition parties in Andhra Pradesh are paving the way to criminal incidents. Recently, the death of three Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers in a road accident on August 9 in Guntur took a twist in the tale as the police suspected it to be a political murder by some YSRC workers.
Vinukonda police while investigating found out that the trio has gotten into a clash with YSR Congress workers regarding a CC road layout at Andugula Kothapalem in Vinukonda Mandal. The YSRC workers were opposing the construction of the road.
As per the reports from the police, Gurajala Somaiah, Challa Venkata Krishna and Medaboina Mallaiah were hit by a car while they were travelling on a two-wheeler. Hence, after the bike lost control, the three of them were run over by a lorry.
The people in the car who hit the two-wheeler from behind were found out to be the YSRC workers who were involved in the word fight earlier. The TDP workers were on their way to the police station to register a complaint about the fight when the incident took place.
The police identified the convicts as Challa China Sambaiah, Yenuganti Ramakotaiah, Yenuganti Srinivasa Rao and Mandati Rama Rao, YSRC supporters, and Poluri Yedukondalu and registered a case under IPC Sections 302 (death due to murder) and 120b, a criminal conspiracy.
