So what is that makes Vizag so special for the filmmakers?
Be it the lush green hills or the deep blue sea waters, Vizag has got it all to make it a perfect shooting-spot for many movies. The many beaches present here have witnessed the filming of innumerable songs and action sequences. Some famous colleges in the city such as GITAM have also played host to some student-driven stories. Even many adjacent places such as Arakku, Annavaram, and Simhachalam have also been used for shooting purposes on many occasions.
We are natural movie lovers. We love our movies. No matter what the language is, Vizagites have always received movies with a warm heart. Many movies get huge portions of their BO collections from Vizag. The area wise collections of some recent blockbusters is an evidence of this fact. A lot of heroes have been striving to get a strong foothold in the Vizag market.
Vizag has always been a place with high potential for development. Be it for its steel plant or its harbor, the city is a major spot for many industries. Knowing its potential, Mr. Ramanaidu had even set up a film studio here.
The city’s prominence has grown manifold after the state’s bifurcation. Right now, the city is poised to become Andhra Pradesh’s IT hub. Also, many companies of different sectors are touted to set up their factories in and around the city. This is a boon for the filmmakers as there will be many corporate organizations that’ll be willing to invest into film-making.
The recent drug-racket in Tollywood has left it in splits. This has got many senior personalities of the film industry to think about leaving Hyderabad and start making films in Vizag. The state’s Chief Minister, Mr.Chandra Babu Naidu has also encouraged the producers to make movies in Vizag by hinting subsidies.
