With Mahanati setting a prospective platform for biopics in Tollywood, the audience are in for a an exciting lineup of real-life epics in the coming few months. Here are a few such upcoming biopics in Telugu that have got all us cinephiles hooked.

#1 NTR

The hugely-awaited biopic of legendary Telugu actor and politician, NTR will be hitting the screens soon. Directed by Krish, the film will be released in two parts- NTR Kathanayakudu and NTR Mahanayakudu- the film stars Nandamuri Balakrishna in the titular role while the likes of Rana Daggubati, Vidya Balan, Kalyanram, Rakul Preet Singh, and Nithya Menen would be seen in other prominent roles.

#2 Yatra

A film on yet another famous politician of the state, Yatra will mark the biopic on former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Rajasekhara Reddy. The film, which is slated to release on 8 February, is being directed by Mahi V Raghav of ‘Anando Brahma’ fame.

#3 Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy

Megastar Chiranjeevi‘s upcoming film, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, is based on the story of freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. Produced by his son, Ramcharan, the movie is being made on a massive budget of close to Rs 200 crores. It has a slew of stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanathara, and Kannada actor Sudeep.

#4 Rocketry-The Nambi Effect

Popular actor R Madhavan turns director with his upcoming film, Rocketry-The Nambi Effect. The trilingual film is based on the life of scientist of Nambi Narayanan, who was wronged and charged of espionage in 1994. This is one of the upcoming biopics that has already piqued interest with its teaser and looks to engage the audience with its intriguing storyline.
