Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met with lead bankers yesterday to follow up on the progress after the declaration of demonetisation of the Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes.
He directed the lead bankers to ensure that there’s no lack of manpower at their banks. Keeping in mind the long queues, waiting period and inconvenience people are going through, he has asked the bankers to introduce a token system. People complaining about the long queues and wait can now take a token and go about their business till their turn comes up.
He held a video conference with district officials to bring them up to speed. He instructed them to provide buttermilk to the people waiting in long queues. The Health Department officials have been asked to ensure that the hospitals have necessary change for the higher denomination notes and to follow the instructions of the government of India.
The CM also stated that they are in touch with the RBI; doing their best to ensure that lower denomination notes are available at all the banks in the state.
