CII is soon going to organise a tourism conclave in Visakhapatnam. Being held on February 24 & 25 with the aim of promoting the tourism potential of the city, it is being held on the theme of – Destination Vizag: A Hidden Paradise of the East.
The event will see the presence of 25 tour operators from across the country. District Collector Pravin Kumar affirmed that the tourism conclave will be an event unique to Vizag with the city as its sole focus. He also stated that the state government is resilient in its aim to harness the tourism potential of the city.
He further said that it’s time to cash in on the existing strength of infrastructure and resources the city has and showcase these well. The main objectives of the conclave will be to highlight the tourism potential of the city and take in genuine feedback from the participating companies.
This way the district administration gets to know the strengths and weaknesses of the city which will help them focus on the needed. Convener of the tourism panel, CII-AP, Neeraj Sarada, elaborated on the objectives of the conclave and said that they include creating awareness about what the city has to offer, brainstorming on infrastructural gaps, inclusion of the city in the East India itinerary and developing a sustainable plan for the grown of tourism in the city to create Brand Vizag.
