Visakhapatnam is endowed with a rich assembly of places that offer enriching experiences. Hailed as the jewel of the east coast, the coastal city, thanks to its many alluring attractions, is a favourite destination for any tourist each year. To bolster the same, the officials announced multiple projects to the city. While some of them have taken full shape, a few are yet to turn into reality. Here are 4 such tourism projects that have kept us waiting in Visakhapatnam.
Beach Shacks
Backpackers, foreigners and travel bugs dig heaven from the beach with a shack on it. A shack is where they can soak up in the sun, lounge and have a few thirst quenchers and enjoy. It was announced that shacks would be set up at Thotlakonda, Rushikonda, Sagar Nagar, Yendada, Mangamaripeta and Revupolavaram. However, shacks have been developed only at Thotlakonda and Rushikonda thus far.
Hovercrafts
The hovercrafts project is one of the highly anticipated tourism projects in Visakhapatnam. It has been hitting roadblocks causing a further delay in its execution. The hovercraft project in Visakhapatnam results from a deal struck during the CII Partnership Summit in 2016. With already numerous deadlines being missed, we hope the tourists soon get to enjoy a hovercraft ride.
Lambasingi
While Lambasingi has grown popular for its freezing temperatures and picturesque locales, lack of proper amenities such as accommodation and toilets has played the spoilsport for many tourists. While efforts are being put in to tackle these issues, proposed accommodation and other facilities are yet to be open to the public.
Tourist Police Station
A police station, dedicated only for the cause of tourists in Visakhapatnam, is yet to turn into a reality. A separate wing of police would deal with cases including harassment, theft, snatching, cab driver’s menace and missing complaints among others.
