The official trailer of ‘Lipstick Under MY Burkha’ released two days ago on YouTube and it is clearly visible that this movie will shake the so called base myths of the Indian society. This movie has already created a lot of hype among the members of censor board and the Central Board of Film Certification.
Producer Prakash Jha has taken a big step to normalise the fantasies of common people and to let them know about the atrocities against women in the Indian society when it comes to sex. The lead cast of the movie, Ratna Pathak, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aahana Kumar and Plabita Borthakur do justice to the name of the movie by their acting abilities.
The ALT Balaji production house {a part of Balaji Motion Pictures} is taking big steps to normalise the ‘different’ Indian way of thinking and we cannot be thankful enough. The same production house came up with the gay web series in the past which was much appreciated by the audiences. This movie screams the problems related to love and sex that most women face during different phases of their lives and how the society judges their actions.
Set in the crowded by-lanes of a small town in India, the trailer of Lipstick Under My Burkha chronicles the secret lives of four women in search of a little freedom. Though stifled and trapped in their worlds, these four women claim their desires through small acts of courage and stealthy rebellion. Movies like this are what India needs more of along with educating people who are already facing these atrocities in the society.
This movie releases on July 21 2017 and we cannot wait more. We hope that this movie brings a positive change in the biased Indian society and learns something. Much love to Prakash Jha and Balaji Motion Pictures.
Ps. This article is all about feminism and is written by a guy.
