The two cities Vizag and Hyderabad are not too far apart and witness a lot of passenger traffic between them. There are a lot of students in Vizag who travel frequently to and from Hyderabad. Many people also have families in both these cities. It only takes a day at most to get from Vizag to Hyderabad. #1 By road

Vizag to Hyderabad is one of the most popular road trips. The journey might be long (12 hours approximately) but it isn’t very uncomfortable. For one, the whole trip is along a four-laned road. Then, there are plenty of decent stopping points on the way where you can grab a meal or get some rest. 

While it is feasible to complete this journey within a day, people can stop overnight at the river cities of Rajahmundry, and Vijayawada, which fall on the way. If there’s time on hand, one can also check out the many tourist attractions in these cities. Such as Dowleswaram Barrage and Godavari twin bridges, in Rajahmundry, and Prakasam Barrage, Undavalli Caves, and Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada. Just before reaching Hyderabad, you also pass by Ramoji Film City which is an excellent place to spend a day or two.

#2 By rail

Being one of the routes with the highest passenger traffic, it is natural that there will be a lot of trains between Visakhapatnam railway station and Secunderabad railway station. With the journey being about 12 hours, passengers can simply start in the evening and arrive early morning. This is why most of the Visakhapatnam to Secunderabad depart at night. 

Train no. 12703 Falaknuma Express, train no. 12727 Godavari Express, train no. 12739 VSKP Garibrath Express, train no. 12805 Janmabhoomi Express are some of the popular trains on this route. All these trains run on a daily basis and are preferred by the budget-minded passengers. Garibrath Express, in particular, is ideal for people who want to travel cheaply in an AC coach. 

#3 By bus

Bus is another one of the popular modes of transportation between Vizag and Hyderabad. Again, being a journey of about 12 hours, most buses start at night and arrive in the morning. For this reason, sleeper coach A/C buses are very much in-demand on this route. The route comprises of National Highway-16 uptil Vijayawada and then, National Highway-65 till Hyderabad. If you want to travel cheaply, you can book a seat in an APSRTC bus and save some money.

#4 By air

The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is one of the most-popular flight destinations from Vizag. Non-stop flights between these two airports take about an hour to complete. This way, people can choose to travel early in the morning and save a lot of time. Due to the dynamic pricing system in place, it’s beneficial to plan your flights in advance and pay less.
