Two major tourism projects in Vizag have been given a deadline for completion by second week of August. The upcoming tourist projects were served a deadline by VUDA. The work for installing the recently decommissioned Naval Aircraft TU-142 on the beach road and the construction of an Aircraft Museum therein and the heli-tourism project are the two that Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority has slotted for completion.
The TU-142 is being converted into an Aircraft Museum. It will be placed beside the Submarine Museum i.e INS Kursura. The aircraft was broken down into 30 smaller pieces and rest have already arrived on-site. Once the units are brought to beach road, the assembling work will begin. The two war museums on the central location of the beach road is expected to be a major tourist draw in the upcoming days.
VUDA has invited helicopter operator Pawan Hans Limited to provide helicopter tourism services in Vizag city. They are exploring heli-tourism to operate from VUDA Park to Kailasagiri, Bheemli and Araku Valley. This is an innovative thing for the people of Vizag to enjoy. It will emerge as a major attraction on the beach road. The Aircraft Museum is expected to give an extra fillip to tourism in Vizag.
