The Setting
Drive or walk along the Beach Road and a glowing sign next to the RK Mission library grabs your attention. With exposed bricks and glass exteriors, The Waterfront Food Court is a vast space set up with different counters offering only vegetarian fare of chaat, authentic North Indian, South Indian and more. Dark chocolate tables and chairs are placed with enough space between them to provide the much-needed privacy. A cream ceiling set up with different kinds of subtle lights provides contrast to the dark furniture.
The Fare
While vegetarian fare often translates to limited options, at The Waterfront such is not the case. North Indian, South Indian, Chinese starters and main course line the menu but it’s the chaat section that gains brownie points. Punjabi Samosa Chaat, Sabudana Vada, or fresh steamed corn sautéed with herbs and spices are but a few highlights. They also offer a wide range of idlis and dosas – ranging between the regular Butter Karampodi Dosa and Paneer Palak Cheese Dosa that are worth trying out too.
Yo! Recommends
The Cheese Pav Bhaji, Bombay style Vada Pav and Misal Pav are worth it if you miss authentic Pav dishes from the North. Try out their Cheese Idli if you’re looking for something different and their Special Dosa if you’re in for something comforting. Order the Assorted Pani Puri Platter consisting of 3 different flavours if you’re there with friends and share that Banana Split dessert with your date. Skip the regular and go for a Choco Nut Sandwich if you’re a chocoholic.
