This village is situated in the coastal area of Kothapatnam mandal and is recieveing praises from all over the country for adapting the cash less transaction.
All because of the initiatives taken by the lead banks in the village to promote cash less transactions, Collector Hari Jawaharlal has urged people to follow the example set by the people residing in k. Pallepalem.
The village of K. Pallepalem has over one thousand families which have been adopted by the public sector Syndicate Bank [which is the lead bank in district] and everybody is provided with a savings bank account and RuPay cards for the no-cash transactions as told by the deputy general manager of the Syndicate bank, Ramanamurthy.
The self help by the group of 1000 strong women members in the village came to use when the local kirana shops were installed with ePoS machines to have card transactions. The positive response by the shop keepers and the civilians has brought the village to such distance. The women in the village were taught to carry out the digital transactions with the help of Banking Correspondent and other bank staff as well, explained the DRDA [District Rural Development Agency] Project Director, M.S. Murali.
Mr Murali said,” The DRDA have appointed two persons each in the 1,149 gram panchayats to promote cashless transactions in a big way in coordination with 249 bank branches in the district. Each of those who facilitated 2,000 cashless transactions would be given an incentive of Rs 1000”.
