The state festival Visakha Utsav will be held at the Beach Road from Friday.
Unlike every year, this time the three day festival would be held at a single venue on the beach to enable tourists to enjoy different events without missing out any of the events.
Reportedly addressing the media, Minister of HRD Ganta Srinivas Two said Visakha Utsav was declared a State festival by the government and sanctioned Rs.2.75 crore for it. Though planned to be held from January 29, the Chief Minister postponed it to stop the clash with CII Partnership Summit.
On the first day of Utsav, Pop Singer Baba Sehgal would perform his numbers and music director Devisri Prasad would be seen presenting a musical night on the final day. Union Minister for Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu would inaugurate the Utsav.
Apart from musical shows, folk art, flower show, temple replicas and other stalls would be put up on the RK Beach stretch. Artists from Odisha, Chattisgarh and Karnataka would also participate in the events.
Collector Pravin Kumar said stalls would be put up to educate the visitors on digital financial literacy in view of demonetisation.
