As per the latest reports, Nok Air, a Thailand based airline, will soon be flying flights from Visakhapatnam international airport to Don Mueang international airport in Bangkok.
Expected to begin operation from 21 November, the flight, in all likelihood, will be flying thrice a week (Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays). K. Vijay Mohan, president of Tours and Travels Association of Andhra (TTOA), informed that the airline will open the online booking by the end of September.
Bangkok will now be the fifth international destination where passengers can travel to from Visakhapatnam. The city is already connected to Singapore, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, and Colombo.
Mr. Vijay Mohan said that the direct flight from Visakhapatnam to Bangkok is cost-effective and customer-friendly. He added that people, who generally travel to Bangkok via connecting flights through Kolkata, Hyderabad, or Chennai, will now be able to travel faster, thereby, saving time. He further informed that the flight will be flying midnight from Visakhapatnam enabling passengers to reach Bangkok early in the morning.
Mr. Vijay Mohan also informed that Nok Air will connect 24 destinations in Thailand including Chiang Mai, Krabi, Phuket, and Trang. It will also connect 10 destinations to China including Zhengzhou, Nanning, Nantong, Yancheng, Yinchuan Hedong, Hefei Xinqiao, Nanjing, Qingdao, Tianjin, Shenyang; Loas – Pakse, and Vientiane in Japan (Tokyo and Kansai), Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam and Yangon in Myanmar.
