In what might prove to be a boost the tourist scene in Visakhapatnam, a theme park on biodiversity is likely to come up in the city. Proposed at Thimmapuram, on the Visakhapatnam-Bheemili road, the biodiversity theme park has been touted to attract the tourists by giving them a chance to experience the wilderness of the Himalayan wilderness with simulations of the region’s flora and fauna.
Furthermore, the park is also expected to showcase the biodiversity of the Eastern and Western Ghats, along with a section to house the ‘Jurassic World’, which might take some time to turn into a reality.
The project, which is being undertaken by Andhra Pradesh Natural History Parks and Museums Trust and promoted by Natural History Society of India, is being designed with immersive technology, according to K.V. Subbarao, reports The Hindu.
Mr. Subbarao further informed the daily that while the total project might take about 4 years to be completed, the first phase of the project is expected to be completed by the year-end and would feature parks representing different parts of India. A simulated model of the ocean and a virtual aquarium are the other attractions that might thrill the visitors at the upcoming park.
Reportedly, the theme park is likely to come up over 15 acres of land allocated by the State Government. While Rs 40 crores of the estimated project cost, of Rs 100 crores, will be funded by the Centre, the remaining will be raised through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
