Several candidates, who contested the polls from Visakhapatnam, have reported their poll expenditure. Including the expenses incurred on advertisements, vehicles, fuel, lunches, tiffins, beverages, rallies, photos, wall posters and other promotional material among others. As per the figures reported, all the contestants were well within their upper expenditure limit.
Going by the expenditures registered by the candidates in Visakhapatnam, Telugu Desam Party’s candidate from Visakhapatnam North, Ganta Srinivasa Rao reported the highest expenditure of Rs 23.19 lakhs while Janasena Party’s candidate from the same constituency, Pasupuleti Usha Kiran, reported the least amount of Rs 57,950. Janasena Party Chief, who contested from Gajuwaka, reported a poll expenditure of Rs 8,39,790.

On the other hand, the reports submitted by teams maintaining shadow registers point towards an increased election expenditure this year. It has been reported that a few of the candidates are also being notified in this regard.
