Top Universities of the world vie for Amita Gondi, a young Visakhapatnam girl and student of Oakridge International School.
When students try hard to get placed in the top universities of the world, top Universities like Stanford and Harvard are bidding for Amita Gondi,a Visakhapatnam girl. She is a Grade XII student from Oakridge International School. Amita is an International Squash and Racquetball player and is a National Award swimmer with many National and International Awards to her name. She is currently Ranked No.1 in India in the Girls Under-17 squash category and has finished in Top 3 in major tournaments like US Junior Squash Open 2016 & Canada Junior Open 2016. It is but natural for the top universities to line up for asking her to be their student.
It will make one think of how the young one manages to divide attention between studies and sports. She has equally balanced academics though, scoring a brilliant 10/10 CGPA score in her Grade 10 CBSE Board exams. She has been awarded with the Academic Excellence award twice during her secondary education and also handled the responsibility of being the Deputy Head Girl. The balance that she has maintained between sports and academics is what made her an aspiring candidate for the top Universities to look at.
In the words of the proud principal of Oakridge Internationak School, Arjun Rao –
“Amita personifies an ideal Oakridger , one who is always willing to push the boundaries and those who never stops learning. She has pushed herself in the classroom and out on the sports arenas of the school and found great success all around. Amita has inspired younger students to aspire to greatness and will continue to be a source of inspiration for many years to come at Oakridge. We wish Amita the very best in her future academic pursuits and wish to see her in national colours at the Olympics very soon!”
