The sports enthusiasts in Visakhapatnam have got a new reason to rejoice. A new mini stadium is soon being inaugurated in Kommadi area of the city.
New sports arena in Visakhapatnam
The Greenfield mini stadium has completed its construction and is all set to host many games. A whopping budget of INR 2.41 crores has been spent on the construction stadium. This modern sporting facility will be spread over 4.98 acres of land and is deemed to attract many sports lovers.
The stadium will consist of a 200 m jogging track, and courts to host kabaddi, volleyball, long-jump. high-jump, ko-ko, among others. Additionally, it even has a gym, and areas to facilitate badminton, chess, and table-tennis. The stadium has been designed in such a way that the games won’t be interrupted due to rains or other climatic conditions. The galleries provided here offer the spectators the possibility of watching their favourite games being played live.
Facilities provided
The players will be provided with all basic amenities and features. There will be separate washrooms for male and female players. Apart from changing rooms, there will also be storage rooms available to store the sporting equipment. The officials and players will have a special administration building to carry out various organizational activities. Moreover, the shopping complex here will help the players with their basic necessities and other requirements. Also, the parking lot available here can be used by the players to park their vehicles.
The DE of AP State housing corporation, Mr. R.Prasanga Raju, said “The stage is being set to inaugurate the mini stadium in the first week of October. Presently, the plumbing, electrical, and fencing works are in progress and will be finished by the end of this month. All the courts are being installed with modern sporting features. This will help many talented youngsters to groom their careers in an effective way. This stadium will turn out to be a prestigious one for the sports persons from Visakhapatnam.” In fact, a proposal has been made to expand this stadium into another 13.46 acres.
