In what might prove to yet another feather in Visakhapatnam’s I.T sector, the city will soon get another Millennium Tower. A Government Order (GO) passed on Tuesday said that Millennium Tower-B will be constructed in connection with the already existing tower. The GO further informed that the tower, consisting of eight storeys, would be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 55 crores.
The sea facing Millennium Towers in Visakhapatnam have reached an advanced stage of completion. Once completed, the towers, the officials feel, will help the city establish as a major IT hub in Andhra Pradesh.
The Millennium Towers are being constructed over 4 acres of land with Rs 145 crores. A parking space, spread over 1.5 lakh square feet, has been allocated too.
With Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu set to visit the city on March 29, the personnel have upped the ante and are carrying the works at a brisk pace. The Towers will be used by Conduent Inc to set up its Global Development Centre in the city. The firm has already recruited 120 people to work for its operations in the city, with 200 more jobs slated to be announced in the near future. The firm is expected to equip its office space in the Towers within the next two months.
