The much-awaited NAD flyover in Visakhapatnam was visited by a group of experts from NIT Warangal on Friday.
NIT Director and expert in civil and structural engineering N.V. Rama Rao, Prof. Prasad (Transport) and Prof. Rajesh (Structural Engineering), were accompanied by VUDA vice-chairman P. Basanth Kumar to the flyover.
The experts shared valuable suggestions on the project after examining entire stretch and markings of piers.
It has been learned that VUDA insisted the experts revisit the city with the necessary modifications for the project. “The experts will return to Warangal and come back with the necessary modifications in a week,” Mr. Basanth Kumar told The Hindu.
The VUDA vice-chairman also said the work on pier one will begin from April 2nd. The project, which was taken up with an estimated cost of Rs 113 crore, would be completed within the stipulated time, Mr. Kumar said.
The NAD flyover had its foundation stone laid by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu earlier. The flyover, once constructed, is expected to facilitate an easier flow of traffic in the currently congested junction of NAD.
