Vizagites tell us their favourite places for a winter getaway

The city’s temperatures seem to be dropping as the winter is progressing. Thankfully, the cold weathers here, unlike in the Northern parts of India, prove to be quite pleasant and enjoyable. In addition, the scenic and picturesque spots in and around Visakhapatnam provide us with multiple getaway options to mark this season as special.

We happened to interact with a few Vizagites and here’s what their favourite places for an inter getaway are.

Lambasingi- The obvious choice

“Just the experience of those midnight bike-rides to this cool spot is something unmatchable. We are a gang of bikers and visit Lambasingi during this time of each year without fail. We possess a truckload of memories at this place and will cherish them for a long time to come.”

-Charan, Engineering Student

R.K Beach- The best place any day

“I have been a resident of Visakhapatnam for the past 14 years and I personally feel that nothing can beat the beach. Be it during the hot summer, or the rainy season, or even during these cold months, I visit the beach almost every evening to spend some quality time with my loved ones.”

-Indu, Housewife

Araku- Our Prized Possession

“Even though Araku has lost some of its earlier sheen, I still feel that it remains as one of our prized possessions. From spending some pleasant moments at the beautiful locales to indulging in a cup of piping hot coffee, Araku has been one of my most preferred getaway spots during the winter. Also, the camp-fires and treks make it more special.”

-Kamala, Software Engineer

Home Sweet Home- Special for everyone

“While this might not be an exact getaway option for many, I personally love staying in a cosy atmosphere at my home during the winters. Gorging over a bowl of hot soup while watching a horror movie in a gloomy atmosphere is the best thing I can do during a chilling night.”

-Sirisha, School Student

Solo long drives to the surrounding spots- an experience to be cherished

“Be it to Bheemili, to Paderu, or even to Lambasingi, the experiences of long drives to these places is difficult to match. While going along with friends is fun, I usually prefer to ride alone to embrace my solitude. This really proves to be my “getaway” period at the end of a year.”

-Suman, BPO Employee
