Beach Volleyball Tournament
Visakhapatnam will soon be playing host to the first-ever Federation International De Volleyball (FIVB), a Beach Volleyball World Tour event. The tournament will be held at RK Beach from 17-20 January next year.
The four-day event will be witnessing participation of 56 leading teams; 28 each from the men’s and women’s categories across the world, informed President of Andhra Pradesh Volleyball Association (APVA) and Visakhapatnam MLA (West) PGVR Naidu.
Previously, Visakhapatnam had hosted volleyball world championship in the year 2005. The sport enjoys a wide popularity in the city along with the twin Godavari districts.
Kolkata-based Leisure Sports Management is the promoter of the tournament with Kolkata-based Leisure Sports Management is the promoter of the event, with FIVB and Volleyball Federation of India (VFI), Andhra Pradesh Volleyball Association (APVA) extending support to the event.
The APVA expressed gratitude for choosing Visakhapatnam as the host for the event. Federation International De Volleyball will be telecast live by a leading sports network in India informed SS Dasgupta, Managing Director Leisure Sports Management.
