The Viva Team
Popular YouTube Telugu channel VIVA has achieved a much-coveted feat on the digital platform. By crossing the 1 million subscriber mark on Monday, VIVA now stands as one of the few regional channels to have crossed the landmark on YouTube.
Sharing the news on social media, Sabarish Kandregula, Director at VIVA, posted, “Finally!!! A million love for viva?.”
Rising to fame with the short film titled ‘The Viva’, which took the internet by storm in 2013, the channel is also one of the most followed South Indian channels on YouTube.
Speaking to Yo! Vizag, Sabarish Kandregula, said, “While the channel was first registered in 2010, it has been active since 2013, ever since ‘The Viva’ was uploaded. We have been uploading content frequently since 2016 and have been witnessing a surge in the subscriber base.”
The short film, which was published on July 11 2013, continues to reign supreme as the channel’s most viewed video with about 15 million views. Other videos such as ‘The Exam’, ‘Drink and Drive’, and ‘The Visa Interview’, also have been received well by the audience.
“There’s a lot more exciting content that’s coming up. Soon, we are even planning to venture into long-format series apart from shooting our mainstream videos,” Sabarish, who hails from Vizag, added.
It may be recalled that the YouTube channel was also awarded the Social Media Summits and Award in the Entertainment category.
