You need to fight even harder to earn your license from now on. The government has decided to make the driving license approval process even more stringent in order to reduce the road accidents.
The driving test track in Gambheeram is set to undergo many changes. An amount of Rs 1 crore is going to be invested into the project. In two months time, scientific driving tracks will be made available for the drivers to pass the test. Cameras and sensors that’ll be installed on this track will spot and expose each and every mistake made by the driver. The driver needs to be very alert while giving the test as even any negligence would result in the license not being granted.
Currently, the driving tests are being conducted in the presence of a Transport dept. officer. The officer will be examining various aspects such as driver’s control of the vehicle, preciseness towards the target, etc. However, it’s not entirely possible for the officer to spot each and every mistake made by the driver. The process is not completely foolproof and there’s a chance that inefficient drivers might get away and put the pedestrian’s safety at stake.
The officials feel that all such errors will be mitigated once the computerized system comes into play. Also, all the middlemen and malpractices involved will be removed. This, the officials feel would help in putting more efficient drivers on the road.
