In a tragic accident in Vizag, a 3-year-old boy died after falling into an open drain near Kota Veedhi in the city. With another boy falling prey to the same open drain in the past, the recent incident has caused an uproar among the locals.
The victim this time, identified as Yojith, went missing on Saturday evening. Reportedly, Yojith fell into the open drain on Saturday evening when he climbed the barrier wall. With the search operations by the parents and locals turning futile, a complaint was lodged at the One Town police station to find the missing child. However, the parents were thrown into despair when Yojith’s dead body was found at the S.L Canal in Vizag.
Agitated individuals in the area have been demanding for a taller barrier wall to be built across the boundary separating the adjoining cluster of houses. As per a few of them who spoke to Eenadu, the wall’s height hasn’t been increased despite taking the issue up with the concerned officials on several occasions. The present barrier, they feel, is easily scalable by kids who are losing their lives by falling into the neighbouring drain.
