This Dussehra, the need is to be extra-cautious as the Covid-19 threat looms around. Accordingly, Vizag City Police has taken a variety of measures to ensure that all the public celebrating Dussehra are safe.

In this regard, the Law and Order wing of the city police has allotted police personnel for regular checking and maintenance of order at the Dussehra Pandals. Their job is to deter the anti-social elements and ensure a smooth celebration of Dussehra in Vizag.

Also, traffic can be a major issue during Dussehra in Vizag. Hence, the traffic police have marked special points in the city where heavy traffic is anticipated.

Awareness programmes have been conducted through auto-rickshaws in various parts of the city, pamphlets have been distributed and night patrols have been allotted in order to reassure people who are leaving their houses to celebrate Dussehra.

Arrangements have also been made to ensure a smooth and trouble-free immersion process. Blue Colts have been assigned with the task of following the idols till immersion.

Visakhapatnam City Police Commissioner, Manish Kumar Sinha IPS, wished the people of Vizag a happy Dussehra. He also insisted all the citizens maintain Covid-19 protocols like wearing a mask in public places and taking proper precautions to prevent any thefts.

This Dussehra, let us crush this evil that has been tormenting us for the past year and a half. Let us defeat Covid-19 and bring back normalcy to life in Vizag.
