Vizag, the city of destiny, has always been proved to give positive results when it comes to the Indian Cricket Team and the same trend follows this year too. The famous ACA-VDCA cricket stadium, set on the outskirts of Visakhapatnam amidst scenic hills, has hosted many International as well as Interstate IPL matches including 1 Test match, 6 One Day Internationals and 1 T20I as till November 2016. India has won a T-20 match against Sri Lanka, One Day against New Zealand and now the first Test match in Visakhapatnam against England.
The ACA-VDCA ground has been very lucky for Virat Kohli as he managed to score many runs including some centuries while playing in the city of destiny. The ACA-VDCA stadium is also the place where Virat scored two One Day century and one Test century. He scored 99, 117, 118 and 65 against New Zealand on October 29 and 167, 81 in the test match against England which took place recently.
The growing attraction of Vizag amongst the Indian cricket players can be seen clearly through their tweets as they address the city as clean, beautiful and lucky for Indian cricket’s future. Many famous lead cricketers including Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh have praised the cleanliness in Visakhapatnam and its beautiful landscapes in their tweets.
Earlier this year, MS Dhoni tweeted about how he would love to live in Vizag with its beautiful landscapes and beaches and that Vizag is the home to his first big inning. While addressing the media after the Indian Cricket team won the test match, Virat Kohli said that Vizag is his lucky ground along with Adelaide in Australia. He further added, “The people are extremely encouraging and the crowd helped our confidence. I would love to play in Vizag any time.” The highest runs scored by the Indian cricket team in Visakhapatnam is 356 in 50 overs in one inning.
The coming time would show all the surprises that the city of destiny has to offer to the Indian cricket team. All we have to do is to wait till the Indian cricket players show their skills on the ACA-VDCA ground next time.
