Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Sunil Lanba PVSM, AVSM, ADC has arrived in Vizag for a three day visit to Eastern Naval Command and is accompanied by wife Mrs. Reena Lanba. He is attending the ENC Golden Jubilee Maritime Seminar scheduled on 22nd and 23rd August 17. He is also visiting the establishments of the Indian Navy Command here.
The Eastern Naval Command has safe guarded India’s maritime interest in the Eastern seaboard since inception on 01 March 1968. It is celebrating its Golden Jubilee year from 01 April 2017 to 01 March 2018 in the form of ‘Swarn Varsh Samaroh’ in Vizag.
Mrs.Reena Lanba, who is currently the President, Naval Wives Welfare Association will interact with the ladies and look at NWWA facilities in Vizag.
Maritime Seminar as Curtain Raiser: As a part of Golden Jubilee Celebrations, Eastern Naval Command(ENC) is organizing a maritime seminar titled “National Maritime Power – Concepts, Constituents and Catalysts”, at Samudrika Auditorium, Visakhapatnam on 22 and 23 August 2017. The two-day seminar is being organized in association with National Maritime Foundation.
The seminar will be attended by the Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Sunil Lanba, former Chiefs Admiral Arun Prakash, Admiral R K Dhowan, former Commander-in-Chiefs of the ENC, senior officers from the Navy and the Coast Guard, senior Government officials, heads of the Public Sector Undertakings, members of the Academia and National Maritime Foundation, eminent speakers, subject matter experts, members of media and students from colleges.
Highlights:
- The seminar would address the concerns in the maritime environment and would encourage the participants in fostering a maritime power.
- Admiral Sunil Lanba, Chief of the Naval Staff will deliver the keynote address.
- The seminar would witness eleven eminent speakers over four sessions during the two days of the event.
- Salient issues planned to be discussed during the two days of the seminar are, “India as a Resurgent Maritime Power”, “Maritime Economics, Infrastructure and Maritime Environment”, “Maritime Security and Safety”, and “Regional Maritime Dynamics.”
