All police stations in Vizag will be modernised with a funding of Rs 75 crores, Andhra Pradesh Home and Deputy Chief Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa informed. The Minister laid foundation stones for five new police buildings in Vizag on Tuesday.
New police station buildings at Yendada, Hanumanthavaka and Maharanipeta, new police commissioner building at CP office complex and DCP office were among the five police buildings for which the foundation stones were laid in Vizag on Tuesday.
While the CP office complex is likely to be constructed with a cost of Rs 20 crores, the DCP office and the police station at Maharanipeta are expected to cost Rs 4.5 crores and Rs 5 crores respectively.
Speaking at the event, Chinna Rajappa modern police stations were being built across the city by using the latest technology. He further informed that the government has ensured there’s no dearth in the police personnel in Vizag and the force would be increased if a tourist police station comes up in the city.
The Minister also elaborated on several facilities and provisions being made to the police personnel in the state.
HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, GVMC Commissioner Hari Narayanan, Joint Collector Srujana, Andhra Pradesh DGP RP Thakur, Vizag Commissioner of Police Mahesh Chandra Laddha and senior police officials Ravindranath Babu, Damodar, Adnan Nayeem Asmi were also present at the event.
